Greenware Preparation
|
Cast Sweetie Bear in Bell's French Glow or Ivory Flesh. It may be
necessary to thin the slip with Bell's Slip Thinners. Soft fire to
720°C/Cone 018. Clean the soft fired ware using thewet cleaning
technique. Fire to 1205°C/Cone 6.

|
All firings are to 720°C/Cone 018.
|
|
1st Firing - Overall Wash for Bear Suit
|
Apply painting medium sparingly to the bear suit area, wipe back with a
MultiWipe Towel to a slight sheen. Mix the Golden Rod with Painting
Medium to a medium fluid consistency. Apply the paint to the bear suit with
a Doll Sponge, blend evenly with a dry Mini Mop.

2nd Firing - Bear Ears, Lips, Cheeks, Nose Dots
|
Mix Rose Red with Fine Line Medium to a medium consistency. Use a Lip Brush to apply the paint inside the
ear area. Use a China Feature brush to paint the lips and nose dots. Keep the upper lip small by ollowing the
line of the sculpting. Keep the nose dots light and ubtle. Use a Mini Blender to apply and blend the cheeks,
again keep the colour light and gentle.

3rd Firing - Brows, Lashes
|
Mix Mocha Supreme with Fine Line Medium to a medium consistency. Use an Ultra lash brush to paint a fine lid
line and six to eight fine lashes to each eye. Paint fine single brows with a nice even curve.

4th Firing - Pupils
|
Mix Black Magic with Fine Line Medium and use a Double Ball Stylus to apply the pupils. Make the pupils so the
touch the upper lid line, but not the bottom.
|
|
5th Firing - Pupil Highlights
|
Mix Snow Blossom with Fine Line Medium and use a fine Double Ball Stylus or a cocktail stick to apply the pupil
highlights at about a 4 or 5 o'clock position.
